では (de wa) vs には (ni wa)

Core Rule

Both では and には make the location the topic of the sentence.

The difference comes from the particle underneath:

Time uses .

Correct

Meaning

3時に寝ます。

I sleep at 3.

月曜日に働きます。

You can even combine them:

I sleep at home at 3.

About は

The in では and には does not change the basic job of or .

Instead, it adds:

  • topic
